Well
guys.. Now let’s talk about Report text…
Report

hampir sama dengan Descriptive Text yang membedakan adalah objek yang
diceritakan berbentuk jamak, sedangkan objek yang diceritakan pada Descriptive
Text berbentuk tunggal.

Contoh Report Text:
Sea-horses
Sea-horses are strange-looking sea
creatures with heads like horses. They are actually fish. They make their homes
in warm, shallow waters, where they live amongst sea plants.
Just like a fish, a seahorse has a skeleton, gills, and fins. Unlike other
fish, however, it does not have scales. Its body is covered with bony plates of
‘armour’. This heavy ‘armour’ makes it hard for the seahorse to swim. It spends
much of its time resting among the sea plants. It uses its prehensile tail to
anchor itself to plants. When microscopic sea animals swim by, the seahorse
quickly sucks them up with its long snout.
The eyes of seahorse do not look straight ahead like ours. A seahorse can look
left with one eye and look right with the other. This means it can look out for
enemies with one eye and search for food with the other.
Seahorses are clever at camouflaging themselves. They come in many colors. They
can be brown, red, yellow, black, grey, or white. They also change their color
in the blink of an eye. This makes it hard for enemies like birds and crabs to
see them.
Sapphires
Sapphire
is the non-red variety of corundum, the second hardest natural mineral known to
mankind. The red variety of corundum is ruby all other colors are called
sapphire, even pink.
Sapphires
are well known among the general public as being blue, but can be nearly any
color, even colorless. White (or colorless but massive) sapphire would more
properly be called corundum. The blue color is by far the most popular color
for sapphire but orange-pink, golden, white, and even black have generated much
interest in the gem trade. Oriented crystal
inclusions cause a six-pointed-star light effect (called asterism) to
form the popular Star Sapphire.
Many
of the finest watches have crystal faces made of colorless artificial sapphire
- these are extremely durable and scratch resistant.
One
interesting bit of trivia - sapphire is aluminum oxide, and aluminum is a
highly reactive metal. Any freshly exposed surface of aluminum is quickly
oxidized to corundum (sapphire), so it can be said that your lawn chair (or
screen door, or any other aluminum object) is coated with sapphire.
Gorillas
Gorillas
are the largest of all the primates. A male gorilla can be 180 centimeters tall and
can weigh 200 kilograms.
Gorillas are very strong but they do not often fight.
In fact they are peaceful animals. Gorillas live in small family groups
of about 15. In a group there is one strong, older male, some young
males, and a few females with their babies. They move slowly around a
large area of jungle eating leaves and bushes.
In some ways gorillas are very like humans. When they
are happy, they laugh and wave their arms. When they are angry, they beat
their chests. When they are sad, they cry. But they cry quietly, without
any tears. Unfortunately, people hunt and kill gorillas. They also cut
down and burn their trees. There are now only about 10,000 gorillas left
in the world.
Platypus
Many people call platypus duckbill because this animal has a bill like duckbill. Platypus is a native Tasmania and southern and eastern Australia.

Platypus
has a flat tail and webbed feet. Its body length is 30 to 45 cm and covered
with a thick, and woolly layer of fur. Its bill is detecting prey and stirring
up mud. Platypus’ eyes and head are small. It has no ears but has ability to
sense sound and light.
Platypus
lives in streams, rivers, and lakes. Female platypus usually dig burrows in the
streams or river banks. The burrows are blocked with soil to protect it from
intruders and flooding. In the other hand, male platypus does not need any
burrow to stay.
